Why is conserving electricity so important?

Climate change has posed human-being the new problem, requesting us to positively safeguard the environment echoing the sustainable development program. To this goal, the Prime minister had set the goal for the country’s target of conserving 2% electrical energy per year between 2023 and 2025. Therefore, effectively utilizing daily electrical sources can assist to complete that critical goal.

The positive signals

At present, the matter of rational use of energy remains a challenge for all nations including Vietnam. Yet in order to subsidize solving this math problem, people has done positive actions to energy saving.

The effort to protect the energy begins with basic actions. In the whole country’s peak of summers, people have taken their positive solution to safeguard the energy sources. Some residents chose to relax and work in the cafe. It is these fundamental actions that improve electrical energy and cost living saving.

Echoing the global joint efforts, Vietnam has made significant savings in recent years. At 9.pm. as of March 24th 2024, the country has conserved around 428,000 kilowatts equivalent to 800 billion dong – a figure that speaks of the collective effort of society. It is the energy-saving source that is able to provide additional energy to the highlands or reduce waste of the power plants – our country’s largest energy source.

Remain great deals of challenges

Nevertheless, the electricity waste in our country remains an ongoing serious alert. On the peak day July 14th, 2024, we wasted an additional 1,025 billion kWh in equal to 3 billion dong – the immersive number starting from the daily activity. Climate change leading to long distance heat is attributed to the waste of consumption. This is remaining as an alert situation in Vietnam.

In an evolution that took place in 2023, the summer power outages warned of the impact of natural disasters with the stability of power supply with the shortage of electric resources. This fact has interrupted the people’s  producing and daily activity.

How to conserve electricity?

Preserving energy start with the essential movement simply in the daily habitual life.

First of all, we should turn off the light bulb when it is not in use. Not only with the light energy, we should turn off the energy namely television, electric device and charge to avoid additional needed energy waste. 

There is a fact that computers are one of the reasons resulting in losing energy. According to statistics from enege.be, the computer uses around 600kW if the users utilize around eight hours. Hence, you should let your computer in the sleep or saving mode in order to apply adequately in each 15 minutes before continuing to use it. This will not only contribute to preserve the energy but also help the workers enhancing productivity between their short break.

Besides, people should annually check and protect the electric system. Constantly testing the electric system will reduce the risk of burn and failed. When the risk of being burnt or failed is being lowered, we will avoid the listing ability of the electric system. 

In addition, increasing the temperature of air conditioning on hot days will also contribute to energy saving matters. Increasing one degree Celsius, you have conserved 2-3% of the energy sources. In the case of a radical environment causing by heat, using an additional boat of ice is also one of the solutions not to be missed. Because the hot water when it heats up will generate heat. In that moment, you will have additional effective cooling without having to using.

When will we have a sustainable energy source, especially fresh energy? The answer will not be far away if each individual helps the prevailing environment conserving process of the country. The spirit of earth hours, COP 28 will not only be advanced in a day but also necessity to be advanced in many days from the daily activity.
